PM Modi Brings Up His Speech During No-Confidence Motion Debate in Uganda
Addressing the Indian community at an event in Uganda's capital Kampala, PM Narendra Modi said he had come there to invite the people for the Pravarsi Bharatiya Divas to be held in Varanasi as well as the Kumbh Mela to be held in Allahabad, in January 2019.
He also made a reference to his speech during the debate on the no-confidence motion in Lok Sabha on Friday, saying:
Tomorrow, I will address the Parliament of Uganda. A few days ago, I made a speech in the Indian Parliament. You all heard the speech, I am grateful to you all.PM Modi in Uganda, as quoted by ANI
The Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni was also present at the event where Modi was speaking.
During his visit, Modi also unveiled a bust of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in Kampala.
Dalit Man Beaten to Death in Rajasthan
A 22-year old Dalit man was beaten to death by a group men in Rajasthan’s Barmer allegedly over an affair with a Muslim woman.
"The man succumbed to severe injuries. Two people have been arrested so far, further investigation is underway,” DSP Barmer Surinder Kumar.
India, Uganda Sign Four Agreements
Four agreements were signed between India and Uganda on Tuesday, 24 July.
These include MoU on defence cooperation, MoU on visa exemption for diplomatic and official passport holders, MoU on a cultural exchange programme and MoU on material testing laboratory, reported ANI.
