Demonetisation Was an Extremely Foolish Move: P Chidambaram
Former Finance Minister P Chidambaram on Friday, 30 November, slammed the Narendra Modi government for its note ban and GST decisions, saying that “demonetisation was an extremely foolish move.”
“Everything about the GST is wrong except the idea of GST. I don't know why people (on former CEA Arvind Subramanian) don't speak when they are in office? What fear has this government instilled in people?” he added.

Japan Court Extends Former Nissan Chief Carlos Ghosn's Detention
A Tokyo court on Friday, 30 November, extended the detention of former Nissan chief Carlos Ghosn, local media said, after his arrest on allegations of financial misconduct that have shaken the auto industry.
The extension means Ghosn could remain in a Tokyo cell for another 10 days while prosecutors investigate allegations he under-reported his salary by millions of dollars over five years.
