Fire Breaks out at a Cloth Shop in Delhi's Chandni Chowk
A fire broke out in a cloth shop in Delhi’s Chandni Chowk on Saturday,19 January, a Delhi Fire Service officer said.
A call was received at around 9 pm about the incident and eight fire tenders were rushed to the spot, he said.
The fire was brought under control within an hour, he added.

Bengali Writer Atin Bandyopadhyay Passes Away
Sahitya Akademi award winning Bengali writer Atin Bandyopadhyay died of brain stroke at a city hospital on Saturday, 19 January, family sources said.
Bandyopadhyay, who left behind two sons, had suffered serious head injuries after a fall, a couple of days back and was kept under ventilation at the private hospital, his family said.

Peace Committee Member Shot Dead in Pakistan
A member of a Peace Committee was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in northwest Pakistan on Saturday, 19 January, police said.
The man, identified as Malik Mir Alam Khan, was killed after some bikers ambushed his vehicle at Achini Khwar area in Khyber district.
