Petrol, Diesel Prices Increase in Delhi and Mumbai
Petrol and diesel prices are at Rs 70.47/litre (increase by Rs 0.14) and Rs 64.78/litre (increase by Rs. 0.19) respectively in Delhi.
In Mumbai, petrol is priced at Rs 76.11/litre (increase by Rs. 0.14), while diesel is at Rs 67.82/litre (increase by Rs. 0.20).

6.0 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Nicobar Islands
An earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale hit the Nicobar Islands region on 17 January, National Centre for Seismology (NCS) said.
There was no tsunami alert issued as sea levels around the Andaman Nicobar archipelago showed no major rise, said INCOIS Director SPS Shenoi.
The earthquake hit the region at 8:43 am and its epicentre was Nicobar Islands region. There were no immediate reports of loss of life or damage to property, officials said.
Sensex, Nifty Open in the Green
Indian equity benchmarks opened higher in Thursday’s trade. The S&P BSE Sensex Index rose as much as 0.41 percent to 36,468.42 and the NSE Nifty 50 Index rose as much as 0.36 percent to 10,929.25.
The market breadth was tilted in favour of buyers. About 944 stocks advanced and 460 shares declined on National Stock Exchange.
