1. Section 144 Imposed at Charminar
Section 144 of CrPC will be imposed in the surrounding areas of the High court of Telangana state under Charminar police station limits by the Hyderabad city commissionerate. The prohibition orders will be on from 6 am on Thursday, 25 April, and shall remain in force for a period of two months i.e. up to 6 am on 23 June.
The areas that will be covered are on the Northern side of the High Court Building: City College Junction to Nayapul Road. On the Southern side of the High Court Building: Madina Circle to City College Road and its (3) bylanes leading to Ghansi Bazaar and other (3) bylanes leading to Patel Market/ Ricobgunj. Nayapul – Madina Circle – High Court Road, Pathargatti – Madina Circle – High Court Road, Muslim Jung Bridge Circle to High Court Road, Puranapul – PTO – City College X- Road – High Court Road and Moosa Bowli – Mehandi – City College X- Road – High Court Road.

2. Youth Held for Tik Tok Video Against CM
A 20-year-old youth was apprehended for allegedly using unparliamentary language against Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and the people of Telangana on the TikTok app and uploading the video clip on social media.
According to the Cyber Crime Station of Rachakonda police, the accused was identified as Thagaram Naveen, a degree student and resident of Krishna district in Andhra Pradesh.
Police described the case as one which promotes enmity between the people of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The video clips had objectionable language, police said.
Acting on a complaint by V Ram Narasimha Goud, TRS Vidyarthi Vibhagam Ranga Reddy district president, police booked a case against the accused under Section 153-A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 67 of the Information Technology Act.

3. City Artist Vinay Arrested for Asking Students to ‘Remove Clothes or Get Out’
Theatre personality Vinay Varma was arrested by the Narayanaguda police on Tuesday, 24 April, for outraging the modesty of a woman. Varma, who runs the theatre group ‘Sutradhar,’ stands accused of asking his students to strip as part of an acting workshop. He was remanded to judicial custody but was let out on bail later on Tuesday.
Vinay Verma was accused by a 21-year-old woman of asking them to ‘remove their clothes or get out’ as part of an acting workshop.
On 15 April, the woman who had enrolled in the acting workshop approached the Telangana police’s SHE team, a team working for protection and safety of women, and filed a complaint. Nine students, 7 men and 2 women, who were part of the workshop were asked to strip naked, she said in her complaint.

4. Hyderabad Cops Rescue 3 Minors, 7 Abductors Held
Three minor children were rescued and seven members of a child kidnapping gang were nabbed by the Chandrayangutta police on Wednesday, 24 April.
The arrested individuals worked as a group that kidnapped minor boys and sold them at exorbitant prices to couples who couldn’t bear a child of their own. The gang comprised four men and five women from Andhra Pradesh.
The apprehended accused were identified as Vakapalli Gangadhar Reddy, Potla Jyothi, G Prasad, Gadepe Sindhu, S Aruna, Korra Munna, and Peddi Laxmi. The police are yet to nab two more of the accused, Syeda Bee and Kanaka Raju.
A case has been registered against the accused under sections 370, 420, R/w 34 of the IPC and sections 80 & 81 of the JJ ACT 2015, and they have been remanded to judicial custody.

5. Ten Major Bank Fraud Cases Reported in Hyderabad in 3 Months
Central Crime Station, Hyderabad has booked 10 major bank fraud cases in the past three months where it was found that not only the companies but individuals also availed loans through fraudulent means by submitting fake pay slips. On 18 April, CCS registered a case based on the complaint lodged by Assistant General Manager V Ugandhar Babu of Kharaitabad Branch, State Bank of India.
In the complaint, he alleged that one S Siva Kumar obtained housing loan of Rs 55 lakh in October 2018 for purchase of house, stating he is working as System administration in postal department. He claimed that his salary is Rs 80,618 per month. SBI sanctioned the loan for the purchase of house property in Surya Nagar in Alwal. Post-sanction when land documents were verified it was found that the names of the borrower and his vendor were not matching with the original link documents and encumbrance certificates issued by the registration department. The investigation found that Siva Kumar fabricated salary slips and had shown his salary as Rs 80618 despite the salary being only Rs 39,483.

6. Three More Students Commit Suicide in Telangana over Intermediate Results
Three more Intermediate students, including two girls , allegedly committed suicide reportedly due to failure in their exams across Telangana over the past 24 hours, police said on Wednesday, 24 April. With this, the number of students, who allegedly committed suicide since the past few days, has gone up to 13.
In a related development, protests against the alleged goof-up in the declaration of Intermediate exam results continued on Wednesday with agitated students and their parents assembling near the Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE) office in Hyderabad.
