1. 25-Yr-Old Plots Murder with Friends, Guilty Conscience Gives Her Away

Geeta Saxena often boasted about her wealth, leaving her neighbours in north-west Delhi’s Rohini Sector 16 green with envy. Among those who knew the 59-year-old well was Richa, an assistant at an Aadhaar centre in Ashok Vihar. So when Richa dropped in to see her on Monday, 8 April, Saxena did not suspect there was murder in her heart.

Richa, 25, had quit studies after Class XI and was dating 22-year-old Sumit, a toy shop employee in Rohini Sector 7. With their limited income, the duo could not live the life they desired and decided their only recourse was to rob someone.

“Saxena had a lot of money by her own admission, and the pair thought she was an easy target because her husband was out on work most of the day,” said Joy Tirkey, DCP (Crime Branch).
