1. Delhi-Based Gang Behind Gujarat Paper Leak
According to the Gandhinagar Police, a Delhi-based gang was involved in leaking the exam paper for recruitment of Lok Rakshak Dal. Four more persons were arrested by Gandhinagar Police taking the total arrests to eight.
Gandhinagar Superintendent of Police, Mayur Chavda, on Tuesday, 4 December, said that all four persons arrested are from Aravali, Mehsana and Banaskantha districts. He claimed that the four went to Delhi and met the gang there.
Chavda said that the four accused were to take the exam on Sunday, 2 December. During interrogation they revealed that a Delhi-based gang was involved in leaking the paper. One of the main accused in the case Yashpal Solanki is still at large and had also visited Delhi to meet the gang there.

2. Workers Manhandled for Refusing to Take Mixed Waste
Drivers running waste collection vehicles in Ahmedabad are facing the citizen’s heat over AMC’s waste segregation policy. At Rama-Pir-No-Tekro in Vadaj area of Ahmedabad residents manhandled a waste collection driver, after he refused to pick up mixed waste.
A video had gone viral showing residents and the waste collection driver having a heated argument with residents after the contractor refused to pick up waste. Some women then emptied their mixed waste in the wet waste section.
This is not the first incident of manhandling reported in the last two days, since the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation ordered segregation of waste. On the first day AMC picked up 24 percent segregated waste and on Tuesday, 4 December, the AMC picked up around 30 percent segregated waste.

3. Leopard Drags Away 2-Year-Old Boy in Amreli
On Tuesday, 4 December, a leopard attacked and dragged away a two-year-old boy from outside his hut at Sudavad village in Gujarat's Amreli district, an official said. The big cat pounced on Mehul, the son of farm labourer Prabhu Damor, as soon as he stepped out of his hut this morning, he said.
“Based on the account of the child's mother and the pug marks found in the area, we can say that the child was attacked by a leopard. He was dragged by the big cat. We have not been able to locate his body even twelve hours after the incident," said Kukavav Range Forest Officer (RFO) MA Gamara.
Mehul's parents, who hail from Rajasthan, work as farm labourers. “At the time of the incident, Mehul's mother was cooking inside,” he said. A team has been looking for the child and the feline, but is not able to trace them even after 12 hours. "We have also asked for a dog squad," he added.

4. Patidars Aim to Give Push to Quota Stir
Enthused by Maharashtra’s decision to provide 16 percent reservation to Marathas, going beyond the upper limit of 50 percent set by the Supreme Court, Patidars and other General Category people in Gujarat are planning to agitate for reservations in education and jobs.
Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) leader Hardik Patel is planning to meet the Gujarat’s opposition leader Paresh Dhanani in Gandhinagar on Wednesday, 5 December, to seek Congress’s support for a Maharashtra-like bill in Gujarat.
Recently, in a memorandum to the state OBC Commission Hardik had demanded an independent committee which also has members of the Patidar community should conduct a survey on the Patidars of Gujarat.

5. Gujarat BJP Govt Using Job Openings to Lure Youths for Votes: Congress
Accusing the BJP government in Gujarat of using job openings as a ‘political tool’ to lure unemployed youth when elections are round the corner, Congress leader Paresh Dhanani on Tuesday, 4 December, demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Vijay Rupani.
More than 55 lakh applications were received for 23,755 different job openings advertised by the government in the last one year, Dhanani said. He said the state government was delaying recruitments till elections were round the corner in order to garner votes, adding that it was playing with the future of Gujarat's unemployed youth.
He said, "Chief Minister Vijay Rupani should tender his resignation for leading a government where people from the ruling party take lakhs of rupees from unemployed youth at the behest of people sitting in the government and play with their future," he alleged. Dhanani's attack comes against the backdrop of the leak of a question paper for a police constable recruitment exam that was scheduled for December 2.
