Police said that waste papers and cloth were used to set the door on fire and that two policemen were inside the building when the incident took place.

The New Indian Express reports that the police suspect it to be an attempt at destroying certain files and documents. However, no documents were reportedly destroyed in the fire.

Reports say that there were no CCTV cameras outside the building.

“We had asked Lokayukta officials to install CCTV cameras outside the building but it’s yet to be done,” a police official told The Times of India.
