Newly-elected Karnataka MLA Siddu Nyama Gowda died in a car accident in the wee hours of Monday, 28 May, ANI reported. The accident took place in Karnataka's Tulasigeri when Gowda was on his way back from Goa.
The Congress MLA's death comes shortly after he had defeated Bharatiya Janata Party and Janata Dal (Secular) candidates in Jamkhadi constituency in the recently-concluded Karnataka Assembly polls.
The 69-year-old had beaten BJP's Shrikant Kulkarni and Sadashiv Kalal of the JD(S).
