‘Eggs’! That’s how the Congress summarised the Modi government’s performance in the last five years.
The Congress, on Tuesday, 15 January, used the most liked post on Instagram, which is of an egg, as an answer to to questions on demonetisation, the Modi government’s failure to provide the promised Rs 15 lakh to the poor, and the agrarian crisis.
This bland picture of an egg has fried the brains of many Instagrammers, poaching over 26 million likes on the social media site. This egg has also broken the record set by a picture of Kylie Jenner’s daughter Stormi, which had 18 million likes.
The Congress has, time and again, criticised the demonetisation policy, saying that many lives and lot of money were lost after the government, on 8 November 2016, announced the ban on all old Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes.
The Modi government has also been facing flak for not being able to fulfil the election promise of depositing Rs 15 lakh in every citizen’s bank account. During campaigning for 2014 elections, PM Narendra Modi had said he will bring back all black money from abroad.
