Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha congratulated his fellows on the 84th Foundation Day of the Indian Air Force on Saturday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also congratulated the Indian Air Force for its performance on Twitter, saying:

Saluting all air warriors and their families on Air Force Day. Thank you for protecting our skies. Your courage makes India proud.

Asserting that the Indian armed forces are prepared to take on any challenge, Raha said there has been enough discussion on the surgical strikes across the LoC, but the forces will not talk about it.

There has been so much discussion on this issue in the country. Every section of society is giving opinion on this issue... the armed forces are supposed to deliver the result that the nation expects. We are not going to talk about it; we will just deliver.

President Congratulates IAF

The President of India, Pranab Mukherjee, also took to Twitter to congratulate the IAF on its 84th anniversary.

The nation is proud of the capability and competency of the IAF. IAF has achieved distinction in defending our skies and delivering vital humanitarian aid and disaster relief. Over the last eight decades, the IAF has emerged as an immensely professional and combat-ready force.

On 84th Anniversary, IAF Makes Facebook Debut

The official Facebook page for Indian Air Force was launched on Saturday, reports NDTV. Raha issued a statement and published it on the newly formed page. It reads:

We continue to train to take on any threat and are fully prepared to undertake full-spectrum of air-operations and respond to any challenged in the most befitting manner...The dynamic portal of Facebook page on IAF would provide a platform to the world to connect with the Indian Air Force and would also provide a medium to the IAF to communicate with the netizens.
