Former Indian Air Force Group Captain Alok Misra, who has worked with IAF Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman and his father, says that for India, the next strategy should be “blow hot and blow cold.”

In an interview with The Quint, Group Captain (retd) Misra said that the intrusion of Pakistan Airforce F-16 jets was an act of war and amounts to declaration of war, even if it was – as Pakistan PM Imran Khan says – for showing their capability.

“Whatever be the intention, since they crossed the border, it an act of intrusion and amounts to declaration of war.”

Misra further wished for a safe return for Wing Commander Abhinandan, who will be released by Pakistan on Friday, 1 March. Imran Khan, in Pakistan Parliament, announced that he will release Wing Commander Abhinandan as a gesture of peace between India and Pakistan.

Indo-Pak Should Have a Pact Against Terror Organisation

Group Captain (retd) Misra said that after isolating Pakistan, India should use its diplomatic resources to put pressure on Pakistan, so that it comes out with a written agreement to ban all terror organisations on its soil.

“There should be a pact, an agreement and there should be penalties laid down. If they violate, what will be the penalty. If they (Pakistan) don’t agree to these terms and conditions then we should continue to do overt and covert ops.”

Group Captain (retd) Misra also talked about past instances of Indian jawans being captured by Pakistan. He talked about the case of Lt Nachiketa and Squadron Kalia. Nachiketa was released within eight days while Kalia’s body came with signs of torture.
