1. Attackers Shoot at Journalist, Throw Eggs on Car in Delhi

A journalist driving home alone late Saturday night suffered bullet injury after two bike-borne intercepted her car and fired at her in East Delhi’s Ashok Nagar, police said.

“Mitali Chandola was driving alone near Dharamshilla Cancer Hospital when two bike-borne men intercepted her car and opened fire from the front. At least three bullets were fired, two hit and pierced the car’s front windshield. Eggs were also thrown at her car. One bullet hit her right arm. The woman was admitted to a nearby hospital. She will be shifted to AIIMS for surgery,” Joint commissioner of police (eastern range) Alok Kumar.

2. Pune: Passengers Kill Ola Cab Driver, Steal Car

Two men booked an Ola cab and then allegedly murdered the driver and fled with the car to Gujarat, Kondhwa police said Sunday.

The body of the cab driver, identified as Sunil Raghunath Sastri (52), a resident of Pathare Vasti, Lohegaon, was found in an open plot of land on the Katraj-Kondhwa Road, behind Kesar Lodge, early on Saturday morning.

The Delhi Police on Sunday arrested a man in connection with the murder of a couple in Dwarka. Vishal, the accused, allegedly murdered the couple for their property.

Two other accused are still at large, police said.

4. 48-Year-Old Police Officer Hangs Himself in Madhya Pradesh

A 48-year-old junior rung police officer took his life by hanging himself at his official residence in Jhaknawada village in Madhya Pradesh's Jhabua district, police said Sunday.

Sub-inspector Bhagirath Baghel, who was from Khargone district, had been serving as the in-charge of Jhaknawada police outpost in Jhabua district, for the last six months.

6. 25-Year-Old Man Arrested for Sending Death Threat to Manoj Tiwari

A 25-year-old was arrested in Delhi for allegedly sending a death threat to Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari through a text message, saying he was under "extreme compulsion" kill him, the police said.

The accused, from Bihar's Buxar, told police that he found Manoj Tiwari's contact number online and sent him a death threat to seek attention, a senior officer said.

7. Marathi Bigg Boss Contestant Abhijit Bichukale Held in a Case of Cheque-Bounce

Abhijeet Bichukale, a Big Boss Marathi contestant, was remanded to judicial custody in an extortion case even as he was arrested by Satara police in a case of bounced cheque.

The Satara police crime branch officials had arrested Bichukale from the Bigg Boss house in Karjat on Friday in a case based on a complaint lodged by Bichukale’s landlord advocate Sandeep Sankpal.

Three days after the murder of four persons of a family in a Banaskantha village, police are clueless about the motive as they await the patriarch and prime suspect Karsan Patel (55) to regain consciousness.

On Sunday, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Banaskantha Police reached the civil hospital in Ahmedabad, however, it proved futile as Patel, who allegedly consumed pesticide, remained unconscious in the intensive care unit (ICU).
