1. Man Held for Trying to Run Over Rival Over Dispute in Gurugram
A man was arrested on Thursday, 1 August, for allegedly running over a 42-year-old man in a dispute over water tankers in Kherki Daula. Police said the suspect, spotting the other man on his motorcycle near the village, rammed him with his SUV from the rear.
The incident took place around 10:15 pm on 28 July, when the victim, Maaman Chand, was going from his farm on Darbaripur Road, near Ninex City, on his Bullet. The victim sustained injuries to his legs, shoulders and ears and was hospitalised for two days, the police said.

2. Gurugram Man Booked for Raping Woman, Filming the Act
A woman, who works as an account manager in a private company, filed a police complaint claiming that she was allegedly raped by a man on multiple occasions, said the police on Friday. According to the police, the man filmed the alleged act and later threatened her to maintain sexual relations with him.
The police said that the woman, who is staying in rented accommodation in Hans Enclave, got acquainted with the man, who hails from Rohtak, some time back. In the complaint, she stated that the accused took her to a hotel near a bus stand on the pretext of discussing a matter and later raped her.

3. Ahmedabad: Four Held for Attacking Man After Asking His Name, Identity
The police on Thursday arrested four youths who were allegedly involved in attacking a youth after asking his name and identity in Bharuch on 27 July.
Police said the 22-year-old man from Mumbai, Faisal Khan, working in a tyre manufacturing unit at Dahej in Bharuch was on to nearby hardware shop to make some purchases when he was waylaid by five men. They asked his name, allegedly to find out his community, and beat him up.

4. 16-Year-Old Boy Shot Dead by Friend in East Delhi
A 16-year-old boy was shot dead allegedly by his friend in east Delhi Shakarpur area on Friday, police said.
The accused, also a juvenile, has been apprehended in connection with the incident, they said. According to police, the boy, along with another friend, visited the accused at a second-hand car dealer shop in the Vikar Marg area where he worked as a helper.

5. Seven Arrested for Abducting, Extorting Money From Mumbai Man
Seven men were arrested on Friday for allegedly abducting a 30-year-old real estate agent in Mumbai’s Mahim area and extorting money from him.
The real estate agent, Harshal Manjarekar, was abducted on 23 July and was let go the same day after his driver handed the accused cash and jewellery worth Rs 13 lakh, said the police. Manjarekar filed a complaint with the police last Sunday, five days after the incident.
