A case has been registered against the Goodwin Jewellers owners in Maharashtra's Thane on 27 October. The case was registered after people protested outside Goodwin Jewellers Thane showroom.

They alleged that the company's chairman and Managing Director (MD) shut down its all branches and had gone missing.

2. Man Kills 15-Yr-Old to Teach His Father a Lesson, Arrested

A man has been arrested for allegedly kidnapping and murdering a 15-year-old boy on Saturday night after the victim's father refused to marry off his daughter to the accused.

While the boy, Devender, was kidnapped from west Delhi's Tilak Nagar, his body was found in Khayla on Sunday morning, DCP (West) Deepak Purohit said a missing complaint was lodged on the basis of Devender's father, Ram Babu.

3. Chandigarh: Family Allege Cops Involved in Murder of 31-Year-Old Last Year, HC Directs SSP to Respond

More than a year after a 31-year-old was stabbed to death in Shashtri Nagar, the Punjab and Haryana High Court has stayed the trial till further orders after the victim’s family alleged involvement of two police officials in the murder and accused Chandigarh Police of delay in trial.

“The trial court is directed to adjourn the matter beyond the date given by this court, till the next date of hearing,” a single bench of the high court said in an order, while adjourning a petition filed by the family to 26 November.

4. Hyderabad Woman Kills Mother Over Relationship, Arrested: Police

The Rachakonda police in Hyderabad on Monday arrested a 20-year-old woman who allegedly killed her 39-year-old mother who objected to her relationship with a male friend, and dumped the body on the railway tracks at Ramannapet in Yadadri Bhongir district.

The woman, presently being questioned in Hayathnagar police station, is believed to have confessed to the murder which happened on the night of 18 October at her house in Munaganuru village of Hayatnagar block on the outskirts of Hyderabad.

5. Mohali Resident Booked for ‘Duping’ Wife, Other Women

The Zirakpur Police booked a man who allegedly duped some women, including his wife. The accused was arrested and sent to judicial custody. He was in a live-in relationship at present.

According to the police, the accused, identified as Deepinder Sidana, a resident of Sector 80, married a Zirakpur-based woman, Preeti Sharma, in 2015 but later, it was discovered that Deepinder was already married and had a nine-year-old daughter.

6. Sexual Assault of Minor: Court Says Even Natural Parents Can’t Give Consent in Favour of Accused’s Bail

Observing that in cases of child sexual abuse, even natural parents do not have the authority to give consent for grant of bail to the accused, a special court on Thursday rejected the bail plea of a 43-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy in 2018.

The minor’s mother had submitted an affidavit before the court, giving her consent to the accused being released on bail. The accused, who had been in custody since December 2018, was booked under sections 377 (unnatural sex) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.

7. Mumbai: Society Watchman Arrested for Stealing Cash, Valuables Worth Rs 2.63 Lakh

A 23-year-old watchman of a housing society in Goregaon (West) has been arrested for allegedly stealing cash and valuables worth Rs 2.63 lakh from residents of Manali apartment on MG Road.

After the first burglary in June, residents installed CCTV cameras at different locations on the building premises. The accused, Maqbool Hussain, was not aware of this and was caught red-handed when he walked into a flat to steal for the second time, said police.

8. 14 People Held for Flouting Cracker Regulations in Chandigarh on Diwali

Thirteen people were arrested in Chandigarh for bursting crackers beyond the permitted time — 8pm to 10pm — on Diwali. One man was also arrested for selling firecrackers without any permit, according to data available with Chandigarh Police.

The cases have been registered under Section 188 (disobedience of an order duly promulgated by a public servant) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which involves imprisonment for up to two years with a fine of ₹1,000.

9. Gurugram Resident Loses Rs 65,000 From Savings Account

An unidentified person was booked by the cybercrime police on Friday night for allegedly duping a city-based executive of a private company of ₹65,000. The case was registered after the cybercrime cell submitted its investigation report against the suspect.

According to the police, 32-year-old Ashish Nautiyal, a resident of Chakkarpur, filed a complaint on April 5 this year with the cybercrime police station, after he received a text message from his bank, informing him about an amount being debited from his saving account on the previous day.
