Ahead of its release, the autobiography of Reham Khan – former wife of Pakistani cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan – has received major flak from politicians, actors and the general masses alike.

Excerpts from Reham’s book were reportedly leaked on social media, following which a slew of Twitter wars broke out between the author and members and followers of Imran Khan’s party, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

The Times of India reports that those who have accessed the leaked excerpts say that the book portrays Khan in an extremely negative light. They have also accused Reham of colluding with opposition parties in a bid to malign his image ahead of the upcoming general elections, slated to be held in July, the TOI report adds.

Book Portrays Imran Khan as “Most Evil Man”

In a tweet, Pakistani actor Hamza Ali Abbasi called out Reham for portraying Imran Khan (a man Abbasi has said he follows diligently) in a terrible light.

According to Abbissi, the contents of Reham’s autobiography included the following:

Reham Khan was married to cricketer and politician Imran Khan from January 2015 to October 2015.

He further accused her of aligning with rival party, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), to malign the reputation of her former husband for her own personal agenda.

Not willing to be outdone, Reham responded to the tweets, asking how the actor had gotten his hands on a portion of the manuscripts before its official launch. She also uploaded screenshots of emails allegedly sent to her by Abbassi, which stated that the PTI had substantial data against her that was provided by some “agency or hackers”.

Reham Took Bribes From PML-N: PTI

However, Abbassi wasn’t the only one to allege that Reham was hand-in-glove with PLM-N to discredit the PTI leader’s reputation.

Pakistani musician and PTI member Salman Ahmad also alleged that Reham had taken a bribe of £100,000 million from the PML-N to malign Khan in her book, The Times of India said. He added that she had offered him money to do the same.

A close source has informed me that Reham was given Rs 89.3 lakh (approx.) from PML-N to write the book. I have all the evidence. I have the email that she had sent me. According to her, Imran Khan is a hypocrite and a liar who doesn’t fast or pray.

A report published by Hindustan Times says that PTI put forth “evidence” that Reham is conspiring against Khan with PML-N.

The report mentioned emails between Reham and former interior minister Ahsan Iqbal, in which the latter had invited her to his residence for dinner, where former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam Nawaz, was also present.

However, Iqbal denied the allegations and called out the PTI members for insinuating the conspiracy, calling their actions “shameful”.

Syed Zulfiqar Bokhari, a senior PTI leader, announced that he would initiate litigation against Reham, the report adds.

Facing the social media heat directed her way, Reham responded to the hate-mails by saying: “I maintain that this is not a personal issue. I have to stand up to the bullies to become an example for others.”

Reham’s autobiography reportedly revolves around her marriage to Imran Khan, which lasted for a little over nine months.
