A 22-year-old techie in Hyderabad collapsed to his death while he was working out in a gym at his workplace in Madhapur. The deceased has been identified as Varun Kumar, who was working with Dell. As he began working out, he complained of chest pain and began sweating.

Madhapur Sub-Inspector P Vijay Kumar told the Times of India:

The gym instructors asked him to sit for a while, but he suddenly collapsed in a heap and became unconscious. Varun was rushed to the company clinic on the campus. The doctor checked Varun’s blood pressure and found that his pulse was hovering at 40.
He was later rushed to Max Care hospital, where he was declared brought dead. The TOI report adds that Varun did not eat properly the previous night and had still come to the gym to work out. His father also claimed that his son had some cardiac issues in the past.

The gym trainer tried to offer first aid after Varun complained of chest pain, but to no avail. Varun was a native of Vizag and was residing in Matrusrinagar in Miyapur. He had been working with Dell for the past one year, the DC reported.

Varun’s father was reported to be a retired employee of the Customs and Excise Department. A case of suspicious death under Section 174 of Criminal Procedure Code was registered and an autopsy was conducted. The body was later handed over to the family while his viscera was sent for forensic examination, The Hindu reported.
