An exclusive footage has been obtained showing cross-border shelling by Pakistani troops along the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri sector of Kashmir. The video shows Pakistani troops resorting to indiscriminate firing with mortar shells on the Indian side of the border.
The Quint could not independently verify the authenticity of the video.
The video of the area, which has been tense along the border since 19 February, shows mortar shells being used to bomb it.
Brigadier YS Ahlawat on Sunday talked about the situation in the region after the ceasefire violation.

Ceasefire Violation Continues
In heavy exchange of artillery between India and Pakistan on Saturday, 24 February, five houses were damaged in Silkote and Churanda villages in Uri, Greater Kashmir reported. Civilians were reportedly trapped in Silkote and Churanda as a result of the shelling.
Amid chaos in north Kashmir, the Pakistani Army, from the other side of the border, asked Uri residents to vacate their homes through the public address systems, the report added.
Brigadier Ahlawat further called the violations from the Pakistani side an act of cowardice and unprofessionalism.

According to the Greater Kashmir report, close to have 100 civilians have been shifted to safer locations, and ambulances have been pressed into service for mass evacuation.
The Pakistani troops the violated ceasefire in the Uri sector on 19 February. The ceasefire violations took place again on Wednesday and Thursday, 21 and 22 February, PTI reported.
The residents of Thajal and Soni were moved to safer locations by the police in view of the ceasefire violations by Pakistan.
The residents of Silikote, Balkote, Tilawari, Churanda and Batgarh started fleeing their villages in view of the repeated ceasefire violations at regular intervals since Monday, 19 February, officials told PTI.
They said the fleeing border residents have been put up at a makeshift camp in the Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Uri town.

The residents demanded that the government ensure an end to the ceasefire violations or rehabilitate them at safer places where they can live without fear.
