On Tuesday, Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray announced that Hardik Patel will be the party’s face for the Gujarat polls.

The Patidar agitation leader arrived in Mumbai on Monday night for a meeting on Tuesday with Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray in Bandra, Mumbai Mirror reported.
Patel said he would campaign for Sena from Goregaon for the BMC candidate Biren Limbachaya, and was looking to collaborate with “like-minded” people.

Patel Navnirman Sena will organise a roadshow in Goregon on Tuesday evening, which Patel will be a part of and will subsequently address a meeting immediately after.
Sena leader and Industries Minister Subhash Desai will also attend the event and confirmed Patel will ask for votes for Limbachaya.
Patel recently returned to Gujarat from Rajasthan and was welcomed with cries of “dekho dekho kaun aaya, Narendra Modi tera baap aaya”, as he has vowed to destroy the BJP in Gujarat.
As the BJP and Sena contest polls independently for the first time in 20 years, Patel could add considerable strength to the Sena armoury.
With 11 Gujarati candidates, it is the highest number Sena has ever had in Mumbai municipal elections.
With spearheading the campaign for including Patels in the Other backward Class category for guaranteed reservations, Patel could prove to be a big draw for the Gujaratis in Mumbai who otherwise are ardent BJP supporters.
