A man in urgent need of dialysis was air-lifted from the flood-hit village of Abiyana in Gujarat’s Patan district and rushed to the hospital on 29 July.
According to reports, the man, a kidney patient, was airlifted via an Indian Air Force Cheetah helicopter, after a request was made to the Gandhinagar headquarters of the IAF.
The patient was forced to climb up on to the roof of his house as the flood waters had risen around him. He was spotted by Wing Commander Gautam Narain, who was piloting the helicopter, as he was surveying the area.
The patient was immediately rescued and flown to the District Headquarters in Patan, where he was received by the civil administration officials who were waiting with an ambulance at the Patan University helipad, ANI reported.
