A Mumbai based media company, Culture Machine, has introduced a ‘First Day of Period Leave’ policy. In this video, women from the organisation talk about their experience of their first day of periods.

Culture Machine, which has 75 women employees, has introduced this policy starting July 2017 to make the environment more women-friendly.

Tell us what you think about this policy.

Some organisations abroad also introduced period leave policy while the concept first started in Japan in the 1920s when workers demanded a leave for fellow female workers. Nike and Toyota are two big organisations which have a menstrual leave policy.
