After much delay, The Mumbai MeT Department has confirmed that monsoons have finally arrived in the drought-hit Marathwada region, covering 90 percent of Maharashtra.

Early this year, the drought in Maharashtra intensified, affecting 28,000 villages and hitting almost 20-22 districts

Skymetweather.com reported that from 8:30 am on Sunday, Santa Cruz observatory has recorded a good 34 mm of rain, which brings the total rainfall amount in June to 80.6 mm. The maximum and minimum temperatures dropped down to 31.2 degrees and 23.2 degrees, respectively.
