A fight on a WhatsApp group turned deadly after a 28-year-old man was killed and three others were injured by a gang of men in Sonepat in Haryana, reported Hindustan Times.

The deceased, Love Johar, was the admin of a WhatsApp group created to include extended family and community members of Johar ‘gotra’ (clan) living in the nearby, area, HT reported, quoting police sources.

The argument started between Love and the accused Dinesh alias Bunty Johri after the former accidentally shared a personal photo in the group, reported HT, quoting Love’s brother Ajay. According to the report, after the arguments heated up Dinesh called Love to his house to resolve the matter.

Love and three of my brothers went to Bunty’s house, where he and his family attacked them out of the blue with bricks and sticks.

Speaking to HT , the Investigating Officer said, “The investigation is not complete, but till now it seems a fight was started over dominance among their community and led to physical clash. Love was killed on spot and three of his brothers were badly injured. Love’s body was handed back to the family after postmortem. Two of the three injured were also discharged by Monday evening while the third one is also doing better now.”

The police told HT that a case of murder has been registered against six members of Dinesh’s family which includes his wife. As per the report, all the accused have been on the run and the investigation is underway.
