19 thermal plants violating green norms:
An estimated 10 percent of India’s 200 thermal power plants have been found to be non-compliant with guidelines such as installation of pollution control equipment.

Supreme Court to consider lifting luxury vehicle ban:
The SC has agreed to consider modifying its order banning the registration of luxury vehicles but said that a small environmental cess would be imposed on the cars instead. The Court also agreed to hear a new proposal to phase out diesel taxis in the city.
30 lakh fine on paper mill:
The NGT has imposed the fine to penalize the mill for releasing toxic effluents beyond permitted norms into a local Nainital stream. The money will be used as environmental compensation to restore the area.
