If you are in India and tried to check out the activity on the Dera Sachcha Sauda chief’s profile on Twitter, chances are, you are seeing this message.
That is because Twitter India has withheld rape convict Gurmeet Ram Rahim’s Twitter account, based on a request placed by the Haryana Police.
The access block is only limited to his followers, who log on the micro blogging site from Indian IPs. His followers abroad can still see the activity on his account. The Dera chief’s account boasted of over 3.6 million followers until Friday.
Talking to the media, a senior Haryana Police officer further confirmed that the department is trying to take away access from his other social media accounts as well. His verified Facebook account is over 7.5 Lakh ‘likes’ strong and as of now, and still active.
