Two months after CRPF jawan Ratan Thakur was killed in the 14 February Pulwama attack, his wife Rajnanadini Devi gave birth to their son on 6 April.
On 10 April, the three-day old infant’s health condition turned critical and he was rushed to a hospital in Ranchi, reported The Hindustan Times.
“I have not lost hope. The people of India were united in their prayers when my husband was martyred. I appeal to the people to pray for the son of a martyr.”Rajnandini to The Hindustan Times
50% Off on Bill: Hospital
The senior paediatrician of the private Rani Children's hospital, Dr Rakesh Kumar, relayed that on account of a premature birth, the infant had a host of complications like intraventricular haemorrhage or bleeding in the fluid-filled areas of the brain, and hydrocephalus or fluid in the brain.
According to the report, Kumar said, “It is a 50-50 situation.”
The hospital’s administrator, Mukul Ghosh, said that their board decided to waive half of the hospital bill.
