1. Car of OSD to Union Minister Looted at Gunpoint
A car belonging to an official aide of Union Health Minister JP Nadda was stolen from Delhi and recovered from Noida on Tuesday night, officials said.
At around 10 pm, an information was received by the Noida police that a White Swift Dzire car of Nadda's Officer on Special Duty (OSD) Aditya had been stolen from Barapulla in Delhi, a senior official said.
"Four teams of the Noida police were immediately rushed after the OSD shared the GPS live location of his vehicle. The car was recovered from Noida's Sector 2," Noida police chief Vaibhav Krishna said.
The senior superintendent of police said the robbers had fled leaving the car behind and that further legal action was being taken.

2. BHU Student Shot Dead, Police Arrests 4
A Banaras Hindu University student succumbed to his injuries after being shot at by unidentified motorcycle-borne miscreants in front of his hostel in the campus, police said.
The incident occurred Tuesday evening, when Gaurav Singh, pursuing his masters in the university and residing in its Lal Bahadur Shastri Hostel in the campus was standing outside his hostel, talking to his friends.
Some unidentified, motorcycle-borne persons came there and opened fire at him, said a police official, adding the assailants fled the spot.
Gaurav sustained bullet injuries in his stomach and was rushed to the trauma centre of the BHU's Institute of Medical Sciences.
The police has arrested four people.

3. Rickshaw Rider Stabbed to Death Following Argument in Delhi
A 28-year-old rickshaw rider was stabbed to death while his friend sustained injuries after a quarrel erupted in outer Delhi's Raj Park area, police said Tuesday.
The incident took place on Monday night when Anil, the deceased, along with his friend Raju Ram, had come to Raj Par area to meet his sister, they said.
When Anil and Ram were at a eating point, a quarrel erupted. The accused persons called their accomplices, a senior police officer said.
They started thrashing Anil and stabbed him at least four to fives times on his chest and fled from the spot, police said, adding they also stabbed Ram while he was trying to save Anil.
Both the victims were rushed to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital where Anil was declared brought dead while Ram sustained stab injury on his leg.
A case under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered and police have identified some suspect, police said, adding further details are awaited.

4. Man Kills Minor Daughters, Self Over Wife's Affair
Depressed since his wife left him for her lover, a 35-year-old man from Chandrapur in Maharashtra allegedly killed his two minor daughters before committing suicide in the wee hours Tuesday, police said.
In the incident occurred in Kannamwar ward in Ballarshah town, Rushikant Kadupale smothered his six-year-old daughter Narayani and 17-months-old Kartiki, before hanging himself with a piece of cloth at his house, a police official said.
He was working as an instructor with an industrial training institute (ITI) in Chandrapur, nearly 46 km away from Ballarshah.
Kadupale has been upset since the last few days after his wife dumped him for her boyfriend, the official said.
Police were alerted about the incident by the neighbours of Kadupale.

5. Man Blinded By Pellet Gun Fire in Mumbai
A 26-year old man lost his vision after getting hit by a pellet fired at Azad maidan in Mumbai. The pellet was fired by a group illegally practising rifle shooting on the ground.
The incident came to light after the hospital where the man is being treated for eye injuries held a press conference to announce the line of treatment.
Police has registered a case under sections 336 (endangering personal safety of others) and 338 (causing grievous hurt) of the IPC against Pune-based Indian Military Training Centre, a private organisation that provides self defence and military training.

6. International Kidney Racket Busted in Hyderabad
An international kidney racket was busted with the arrest of three people who allegedly lured a 33-year-old man from Hyderabad and got his kidney removed in Turkey after promising to pay Rs. 20 lakh, police said on Monday.
Amrish Prathap, kingpin of the crime, and his two accomplices, Sandeep Kumar alias Rohan Malik and a 37-year-old woman, were arrested from Delhi and produced before a court there and brought to Hyderabad on a transit remand, Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat told reporters in Hyderabad.
To identify the donors, the accused engaged agents and brokers and used social media to lure them with big money and simultaneously searched for rich patients who could spend around Rs. 50 lakh to Rs. 1 crore for kidney transplantation, the Commissioner said.

7. Student Held for Faking His Kidnapping to Get Rs 3 Crore to Buy Car
The Gurgaon police has arrested a 19-year-old man for allegedly faking his own kidnapping to get Rs three crore from his family members in order to buy a high-end car, it said on Tuesday.
Sandeep Kumar (19), a student of Class 12 and a resident of Krishna Colony, had left his residence on March 29 for a cricket academy and had gone missing since then, the police said.
"During investigation, it was found that he gave Rs 500 to a ragpicker to make a ransom call to his brother Naveen Kumar. He stayed in Bhiwadi for a couple of days, after leaving his motorcycle near a temple in Sector 5 to show his kidnapping as genuine", Gurgaon police PRO Subhash Bokan said.
"He later returned to Gurgaon, where a traffic cop spotted him and handed him to the local police as his family members had already lodged an FIR," Bokan added.

8. Ex-Indian Women's Cricket Team Coach Held for IPL Betting
Former coach of Indian women's cricket team Tushar Arothe was arrested for allegedly betting on an IPL match, police said Tuesday.
He was arrested Monday but was given bail by the police because had been booked for a bailable offence, Vadodara Police Commissioner Anup Singh Gehlot told PTI.
Arothe and 18 others were arrested by the city Crime Branch on Monday night for betting on the IPL match between Delhi Capitals and Kings XI Punjab played at Mohali, said Deputy Commissioner of Police Jaydeepsinh Jadeja of Vadodara Crime Branch.
Arothe, 52 and 18 others were arrested from a cafe where they were putting bets on the match, said the DCP.
Investigations revealed the cafe, located in the posh Alkapuri area of the city, is owned by Arothe and two others, Hemang Patel and Nishchal Shah, who too were arrested from the spot, he said.

9. Police Arrest Five Who Used to Rob Women Passengers
After a brief exchange of fire, police arrested five members of a gang who used to rob women passengers after giving them ride in their auto-rickshaw in Ghaziabad's Vijay Nagar area, officials said Tuesday.
In the gun fight, the gang leader sustained bullet injuries in his leg, they said.
The gang used to pick up woman passengers on the Electronic City metro station-Indirapuram-Vaishali route.
On Monday around 11.45 pm, a woman boarded their auto-rickshaw but soon she was looted by the five who were in the vehicle posing as its driver and passengers. She was then thrown out on the road, Superintendent of Police (City), Shlok Kumar said.
The woman then informed the police control room and the vehicle was soon intercepted with the driver and his four accomplices in it, he said.
When asked to stop, the gang opened fire at the police personnel, who also returned a shot, in which one of the accused was injured, the officer said.
