Captured Militant Bahadur Ali Met 26/11 Accused Hafiz Saeed: NIA

Ali confessed to having been in constant touch with a control room in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Bahadur Ali, the Lashkar-e-Taiba militant captured by the Indian army in the Kupwara region of Kashmir, told the security officials on Friday that during the course of his training, he had two meetings with terror group Jamat-ul-Dawa (JuD) chief and one of the 26/11 mastermind Hafiz Saeed, a source in the National Investigation Agency (NIA) said.

Ali, who said that he came to kill civilians in Jammu and Kashmir, he crossed over to the Kashmir Valley two months back and had been operating under the nom de guerre Saifullah.

He was in regular touch with a Control Room in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK), from where his handler Walid was instructing him, the source said.

Ali was trained in an LeT camp in Baitul, according to the Hindustan Times. An NIA official also added that a case was registered a case against him on Wednesday and he was brought to Delhi late on Thursday.

Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, called Ali’s arrest a “big achievement” and spoke of using it against Pakistan.
