Two warring brothers were among three members of a family who were killed allegedly in a clash over parking in northwest Delhi's Model Town, on Thursday, 26 April.
Two men have been arrested in connection with the matter, the police told PTI.
The incident occurred Thursday, when the two brothers, Jaspal Singh (52) and Gurjeet Singh (48), who were having a long-standing tiff over parking and property, got into a fight for parking space, the police said.
The incident was a throwback of sorts to another long-standing family dispute in which liquor baron Ponty Chadha and his younger brother were both killed in 2012.
Jaspal was married to Prabhjot Kaur and had three children, while Gurjeet was married to Minto and had two sons.
Jaspal was going out with his wife to drop off a friend while Gurjeet was returning from his restaurant accompanied by his personal security officers Vicky and Pawan Kumar, the police said.
The situation turned ugly when Gurjeet came towards the side where Jaspal’s car used to be parked and a fight erupted between the brothers. Jaspal attacked his younger brother with a kirpan and Kumar opened fire at Jaspal.
Prabhjot, who stepped out to see what was happening, was also shot. Jaspal and Prabhjot's son Jagnoor came out to check and was also injured in the fight, the police said.
Following the incident, Gurjeet, Jaspal and Prabhjot were rushed to the hospital, where they were declared brought dead, the police said.
Vicky and Pawan have been arrested and cases have been registered in the matter, the police said.
