Shopian Army Jawan Murder A Terrorist Conspiracy, One Arrested

Shopian Police have hit a breakthrough into the investigations of the murder of army jawan Irfan Ahmed Dar, as they arrested one of the co-conspirators in the murder of the army jawan on Wednesday.

Irfan was working with 175 Territorial Army and was found dead on 25 November.

Police investigations have helped in revealing that as suspected earlier, terrorists involving Hizbul Mujahideen's Saddam Padder, Bilal Mohand and Lashkar-e-Taiba's Touseef Ahmad, and a newly recruited terrorist, along with arrested accused Muzamil Ahmad Malik, hatched a criminal conspiracy to kill sepoy Irfan Dar.

A bullet-riddled body of a 23-year old Territorial Army Jawan was found in Shopian district of South Kashmir on Saturday, 25 November.

The jawan, Irfan Ahmed Dar, had been on vacation and had been reported missing since Friday, 24 November, reported Financial Express. The body was found by locals, who then informed the police that the army man was lying in pool of blood inside Wothmula Nad area of Keegam.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Shopian, Ambarkar Shriram, who was able to identify the body of as Dar, had confirmed the incident.

While the investigations into Dar’s death continued, Shriram back then only suggested a possibility of terrorist involvement.

He was perhaps kidnapped by militants. His bullet-riddled body was recovered today (Saturday) morning.

According to CNN-News18, a senior police official had said that the soldier's car was found close to the body, and that the police had not ruled out the possibility of militants involved in the kidnap and murder.

Dar was a resident of Sensen village of Shopian district, and was posted in Gurez. He belonged to the Engineering Regiment of the Indian Army.
