A blast took place inside an Army camp in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district on Tuesday, 23 October, PTI reported citing officials. No casualties have been reported from the incident.

The blast occurred in an unmanned shelter inside the 93rd brigade headquarters at Moti Mahal in the border district around 10:45 am.

"The matter is being investigated," Jammu-based army spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Devender Anand said.

While Anand said that the incident has nothing to do with cross-border shelling (from Pakistan), the SSP of Poonch Rajiv Pandey had told ANI that the shell landed "most probably from across the border".

“A shell landed most probably from across the border and because of the blast impact, a shed was damaged. There was a fire and subsequent smoke. Investigation is on and we will try to ascertain the nature of the blast.”

There was no loss of property and life, the SSP added.
