‘Family Feud Led To The Murders’

Local sources said the family of Lal Mohan Mahato was embroiled in a long-standing enmity with a man named Brinchi Mahato – who is currently admitted at Purulia Sadar Hospital with serious injuries. Sources said that on 1 July, a heated argument brooke out between the two families over a land dispute. The clash turned bloody as both family members took out sharp weapons to attack each other.

Six people from both sides sustained serious injury in the clash where later two - Deepak and Lalmohan Mahato - succumbed to injuries and died. The dead bodies were taken to Sadar Hospital in Purulia.

There have been no arrests in the case. SP Akash Magharia (Purulia) has said that an investigation is on in the matter and that there are necessary actions will be taken against the accused.
