The BJP is up in arms against the Congress after Karnataka Congress leader and the party’s social media and communications head Divya Spandana took a dig at PM Modi, wondering if he was “on POT?”
The tweet asking whether the PM was on ‘POT’ came after Modi said at a Karnataka rally that farmers were his ‘TOP’ priority. Modi said that by ‘TOP’ he means “tomato, onion and potato.”

Divya Spandana’s tweet came in response to this statement and simply read, "Is this what happens when you're on POT?"
The question led to a number of outraged responses from the BJP, calling the remark “atrocious” and an "insult" to the people of India.
Narasimha’s cue was swiftly taken up by BJP’s IT cell head, Amit Malviya, who went on to take a dig at the Congress’ social media & communications head.
Malviya then posted another tweet, asking if Congress President Rahul Gandhi was going to “maintain his silence” about Divya’s statement.
Ahead of the Gujarat polls, Congress veteran Mani Shankar Aiyar was in the spotlight after he allegedly called the PM, a “neech” aadmi. The Congress had suspended Aiyar from the party for his remark.
The head of BJP’s IT cell, while targeting Divya, somehow forgot to tag her in the tweet. Something that his Congress counterpart didn’t miss and was quick to respond to.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, in a response on 5 February said that he doesn’t endorse any personal attacks or support “people who indulge in personal attacks,” ANI reported.
