Passing in any exam brings joy to most of us, but what do you do when you pass in an exam you never even sat in? Mohammad Tabrez, a student of Ram Lakhan Singh Yadav College, in Bihar’s Bettiah is currently facing that dilemma.
As per a report in Hindustan Times , Tabrez has cleared the BA part-1 examination conducted by Bhim Rao Ambedkar Bihar University (BRABU), Muzaffarpur, though he never opted for the subject.

Tabrez told the English daily that when he approached his college for a correction in the marksheet, he was told to seek remedy from the BRABU headquarters in Muzaffarpur, 128 km away from his town. The BRABU has also refused to admit their mistake and alleged that he had filled the wrong application form but his admit card says otherwise.
The student claims that he is not the only one running around the examination boards frantically. According to HT, a non-teaching staff has admitted to discrepancies occurring in 40 percent marksheets and claimed that a number of students have been marked absent in spite of them attending the examination.
In March, Bihar’s Ganesh Kumar topped Class XII exams in humanities stream, but failed to show any academic prowess during a TV interview, exposing how the state’s education system was in shambles.
Last year, Ruby Rai, who had ‘topped’ Class XII exams in Humanities stream, was exposed during a TV interview which showed her giving ludicrous answers to elementary questions related to her subjects.
