1. 319 Houses Badly Damaged in Lake Breach; Fogging Ops on
Hundreds of residents of eight localities near Hulimavu Lake in south Bengaluru on Monday scrambled to save what they could after water from the breached lake gushed into their homes on Sunday.
BBMP officials said 319 houses had been badly damaged. The civic agency’s employees and pourakarmikas began cleaning and fogging operations in affected areas to prevent outbreak of disease.
While around 150 people still remained at three BBMP relief centres in the area, 300 left early in the morning. BBMP commissioner BH Anil Kumar ordered more sandbags be placed to strengthen the temporary embankment put up to seal the breach.

2. Doctor Attacked for not Knowing Kannada
A 28-year-old doctor was allegedly assaulted, abused and humiliated by three men after he told them that he did not know Kannada. The alleged incident took place near a fuel station at Kengeri on Friday.
The police arrested the men, who were booked for criminal intimidation, intentional insult to provoke breach of peace and assault, before being let out on bail.
The complainant told the police that around 3.30 am, he and his friends stopped at the store in the fuel station and bought some snacks. Meanwhile, three men came in a car and they also ordered some snacks.

3. Coffee Day-Owned Wood Processing Unit DAFFCO Shuts Operations in K'taka
Dark Forest Furniture Company (DAFFCO), owned by Cafe Coffee Day, has shut down operations at its factory in Karnataka's Chikkamagaluru with immediate effect.
The decision was confirmed in a statement released by a company official on Monday in which the tragic demise of Coffee Day founder VG Siddartha and financial constraints were cited as reasons for the closure of the wood processing factory.
"(After the) demise of the founder and promoter, the other existing management team made efforts to revive the unit. However, it is to be noted that the company was simultaneously going through acute financial constraints and also lack of orders. Hence, we regret to inform all the employees that business/manufacturing/all activities at the factory located at Chikkamagaluru stands closed with effect from 25 November 2019," the company said in its statement.

4. Conmen Pose as Tech Firm Staff, Cheat American Express of Rs 1.3cr
Conmen posing as Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) employees, possibly aided by the company’s staff, pulled off a Rs 1.3-crore credit card fraud in April 2017, while the firm was in the final stages of its merger with Hewlett-Packard.
American Express Banking Corp, in a complaint lodged last week with Koramangala police, said it had processed a request, purportedly from CSC, for 28 corporate credit cards and 10 consumer credit cards for its employees.
“AmEx named 38 people in its complaint, in which it said it had processed the request early in April 2017, after confirming with CSC that the individuals mentioned in the request for the cards were indeed employees of the company,” an investigating officer said on Monday. “It dispatched the cards to the CSC office in Electronics City.”

5. Police Arrested Two more who Bailed out Over 50 Under Trials With Fake Documents
The police have caught a 65-year-old man who allegedly helped provide surety for as many as 50 accused by submitting forged documents to help them secure bail. The accused, Pemma Reddy, a resident of Gudibanda, was caught red-handed in the city civil court complex on Friday after a police sub inspector found his actions suspicious.
He was waiting for his turn to submit fake documents to get an accused out on bail, said the police. Assistant Sub Inspector Henri Madan, who was on duty, took him in for questioning. Reddy allegedly confessed that he would charge Rs 2,000 to Rs 3,000 for every bail he secured.
