The Cosplayers at Bengaluru’s Comic Con added a splash of colour to the event with their quirky avatars.

The sixth edition of Bengaluru Comic Con was action packed with geeks, gamers, and gagsters. While video consoles, photo booths and experimental zones just about managed to draw attention, it was the Cosplay that stole the show.

The event was filled with budding cosplayers scrambling to exhibit their costumes and adopt the mannerisms of their favourite characters. From simple costumes to bizarre ones, there was an array of display which made the fans go gaga.

Here is a sneak peak of the people who redefined the event with their enthusiasm and fervour.

The Siblings From America

“We are from the United States, but we have been staying in Bengaluru for the last few years. Not Everyone Gets Satire

“I have been running this satirical comic, Musalman, for a few months now. Among the readers, only 70 percent get the satire in my work, while the rest 30 percent don’t. So far, I have got one threat mail.”

A Dream Come True

Thangminngam Paul Mate, who dressed up as Goku from Dragon Balls, says “I am originally from Manipur. I have been in Bengaluru for the last ten years. I have always wanted to be a part of Cosplay at Comic Con. But I could never make it due to financial constraints. I am glad I made it this time.”

The Plague is Upon Us

“It took us two-and-a-half months to make this costume and putting it on takes a long time as well. But every year, we come with such costumes. Once the Comic Con is over, I will be back to my job as quality assurance engineer,” says Rohan Ganapathy, as Plague Doctor from Dungeons and Dragons.

The Deadpool Is in Town

“I am an absolute hippie. I don’t like sticking around in one place. I had been to the Himalayas for two years. I am a person who believes in unleashing one’s inner self, which is what Deadpool is known for,” says Jegan Supertramp as Deadpool.

I Was Bored, So I Got a Costume

“Cosplay is the best way to get to be another person. I was really bored of being myself. I got here all the way from Chennai to portray Ice King, the misunderstood villain who is mad about attaining the crown,” says Sourabh Jharia as Ice King from Adventure Time.

According to Kruthi Suresh as Ayusawa Misaki from FANDOM, “I see myself in the character. Ayusawa hates boys and so do I in real life.”

Devoted to Animation

“I took to drawing and sketching as a kid and have not put down my pencil ever since. I make it a point to carry my sketchbook everywhere. I love animation, and that is exactly why I decided to take it up as my career. The kind of imagination that goes into it is unbelievable,” says Amos Christopher Jacob as a Steampunk character.
