  • The Art and Culture Minister of Goa, Dayanand Mandrekar, on Friday told reporters that beach parties are illegal and cannot permitted by law, on the sidelines of a festival for devotional music (NDTV).

  • He said that beach parties are organised and called by different names, where anti-elements start dancing to music.

  • Calling western culture a “ghost raising its head”, he said he is not in favour of the Sunburn festival that happens every year for 3 days. He said his ministry promotes ‘Lok kala’ (people’s culture) events.
