Kejriwal on a ‘Sorry’ Spree, Apologises to Gadkari and Sibal

The letter comes days after his apology to former Punjab Minister Bikram Singh Majithia.

Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal wrote a letter to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to apologise for making "unverified allegations” against him. The letter comes days after his apology to former Punjab Minister Bikram Singh Majithia drew flak from his own party members in Punjab.

The AAP leader was promptly slapped with a defamation suit from Nitin Gadkari after he called the former BJP president "one of the country's most corrupt politicians."

Following the apology, both leaders submitted a joint application in Delhi court seeking withdrawal of a the defamation case in Delhi's Patiala House Court.

Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia also apologised to Congress leader and renowned lawyer Kapil Sibal and his son Amit Sibal who had filed a defamation suit against Kejriwal.

The AAP leader had alleged that Sibal had a conflict in seeking to revise a tax demand on telecom major Vodafone.

Kejriwal ji and Sisodia ji have accepted that the allegations they had put on me & my son in a press conference a few years ago were baseless. They’ve apologised for the same today. He has apologised for what he did, everything is forgotten now. We will move ahead.

After the apologies were accepted by both the complainants, Kejriwal and Sisodia were acquitted by the court.

Kejriwal has been on an “apology spree” to make peace with all those who slapped defamation suits against him.

We will apologise to people who we have hurt. We’re here to serve the people, we do not have the time to go to courts for such issues. We’re here to build schools & hospitals for the welfare of people.

Kejriwal's “sorry list” could also have Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, who had filed a defamation case against Kejriwal for accusing him of corruption during his tenure as the chairman of Delhi's cricket board DDCA.
