The police arrested Shakeel, who is also one of the arrested women’s son, for slaughtering a cow on Tuesday. The raid at the warehouse was conducted at 7:30 am on Wednesday after the police questioned Shakeel.

During the raid, it was found that the slaughtering was going on for a long time and that beef was being transported to areas in Rajasthan, Haryana and other adjoining states, Kumar said, adding that a report on the matter has been sent to Alwar’s MLA Gyan Dev Ahuja.

After locals gathered at an eidgah, purportedly demanding death penalty for the cow slaughterers, the MLA said he hoped the police would arrest all the people involved in the incident at the earliest. He also requested the locals not to take the law into their own hands.

The raid was carried out in connection with the arrest of members of the family allegedly involved in beef trade.

Three women and a man were caught purportedly packaging beef in packets weighing two kgs each. They were allegedly selling beef in Alwar's Ambedkar Nagar.

"Three women who were arrested were produced before the court. The man has confessed to killing of a cow. Forty kg of beef was recovered. The samples have been sent for forensic testing," the police had told ANI.

The arrest of three women was made by the state police on Monday after the police was informed about slaughtering of a cow at a butcher’s house near Badbada mod, Hindustan Times reported.

In addition to this, the police also visited the forest of Jhareda village to see the field where Shakeel had purportedly slaughtered the cow.
