3-Year-Old Who Had Fallen in Borewell in MP’s Niwari Village Dies
Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced a financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to his family.
On Sunday, 8 November, a 3-year-old, who had fallen into an open borewell in Madhya Pradesh's Niwari district, died. Officials told PTI that the rescue workers managed to retrieve the boy from the borewell and rushed him to a hospital, where he was declared dead.
The incident took place on Wednesday, in Setupurabarah village of Prithvipur area. The army had reached the spot and rescue operations had started, ANI reported.
Additional SP, Niwari district had told ANI that the rescue team was able to hear child’s voice.
CM Announces Rs 5 Lakh Assistance
In a series of tweets on Sunday, Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced a financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to his family and expressed sadness over the incident.
“I am extremely sad that innocent Prahlad, who had fallen into a borewell in Niwari, couldn’t be saved after 90 hours of rescue operation,” he wrote.
He had earlier taken to Twitter to express concern and said that all necessary steps were being taken by the authorities to make sure the child is rescued.
“The Army, along with the local administration is engaged in a rescue operation to save innocent Prahlad, who fell in a borewell in Setpura village of Orcha. I'm confident that soon he will soon be resued. May God bless the child with long life. Let's all pray for him,” Shivraj said.
