Seventeen defence personnel were injured when the staff bus they were travelling in met with an accident near Khavda village in Gujarat’s Kutch district on Thursday morning, police said.

Of the 24 personnel, 20 belong to the Navy and four to the Indian Air Force.

The defence personnel were on their way to the Bhagwan Dattatrey temple on the Kala Dungar hillock when the accident took place.

The bus overturned due to a brake failure, police said.

Seventeen persons were injured after the bus overturned while going up the hillock towards the temple. Two of those injured are in a critical condition.
