Around 100 terrorists are getting ready to enter India at launchpads near the Line of Control (LoC), The Times of India has reported. TOI cited officials from intelligence agencies as its sources.
This development comes in the wake of the deployment of the Indian Army forces. Additionally, Border Security Forces reported observing movement of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) close to the border.
We have noticed UAV coming 100 metres up to the border ... Maybe they (Pakistani forces) want to check our preparedness, but I can assure you that we are fully capable of giving a befitting reply and we will not allow any nefarious design of terrorists to succeed.KK Sharma, BSF Director General
As tensions along the border continue to escalate, the security forces along the border have reviewed security measures and preparations for a potential attack. India has carried out similar measures along the Bangladesh border as well to avert terrorist infiltration bids.
elaborating on the steps taken, Sharma said:
No doubt, the overall vigil has been increased (along western borders). All the defence and security forces establishments are on their highest alert...We are even allowing Indian farmers to go to their farms which are beyond the India-Pak fence. We have never said vacate villages, people may have shifted out as precautionary measure. Now, people who had gone are coming back. There has been no untoward incident at the International Border till now.
According to the same sources, “tension” has been on the rise at the International Border (IB) along Jammu, Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat.
