  • A chargesheet was filed on Friday against Goa Sports Minister Ramesh Tawadkar, seven years after he barged into the office of a senior forest officer at Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary and forcefully took away two persons in custody there.

  • Tawadkar is a BJP leader and is one of the eight accused named by the police.

  • Tawadkar has been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code for unlawful assembly, rioting and criminal trespass.

  • Social activist and advocate Aires Rodrigues recently served a legal notice to the state Chief Secretary for delay in the filing of the charge sheet against the ruling politician.
