Rains Cause Landslides, River Flooding in Manipur

Officials fear multiple landslides along the NH 2 that runs through Nagaland if the rains continue.

• Residents of Tamenglong faced scarcity of food after torrential rains triggered landslides, flooding of rivers and inundated low lying areas in Manipur’s hill districts.
• Multiple landslides also brought transportation to a standstill.
  
• The debris on the national and state highways are yet to be cleared.
  
• Officials have warned of more landslides as heavy rains continue.
