Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday will inaugurate the World Sufi Forum in New Delhi. More than 200 Indian and international delegates, including Sufi Shuyukh, spiritual leaders, scholars, academicians and masters of Sufism will participate in this event.
The four-day event is being organized by All India Ulama and Mashaikh Board (AIUMB), the apex body of Sufi Dargahs in India. The participants are expected to discuss how Sufi teachings can prevent global terrorism.
The organisers also said that the event will include a debate on the role of women in Islam. The Sufi Forum is expected to come out with a declaration against extremism and Wahabism on the last day of the event.
