Delhi Police detain 21 Madhesis, who were on their way to the Prime Minister’s residence in Race Course Road, on Saturday, to protest the visit of Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

They were detained in the morning when they were marching towards Modi’s residence.

In his first overseas trip after assuming charge of the top office, Oli arrived in New Delhi, on Friday, for a six-day visit during which he will hold extensive talks with the Indian leadership. His major focus will be on mending ties hit by issues relating to the Himalayan nation’s new Constitution.

It is expected that India will ask Nepal to complete the “unfinished task” of making the Constitution more inclusive to address the concerns of the Madhesi community that shares close family and cultural ties with India.
