CBSE Class 10 Results: 1,68,541 Students Score Perfect CGPA

CBSE Class 10 results 2016 for all CBSE regions as well as private candidates were declared on Saturday.

A whopping 1,68,541 students across the country scored a perfect 10 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) score in the results.

In terms of a gender break-up, 85,316 boys and 83,225 girls secured the perfect CGPA.

Last year a total of 94,474 students scored a perfect 10 CGPA, of them 49,392 were boys and 45,082 were girls.

Independent schools recorded the maximum numbers of students with a CGPA score of 10, with 1,51,061 of their students falling in this category.

1,242 students from government schools and 307 students from government-aided schools also scored a perfect 10 CGPA.

However, in terms of pass percentage, girls outshone boys.

On average, girls registered a pass percentage of 96.36 per cent, while boys registered a pass percentage of 96.11 per cent.

The overall pass percentage this year stands at 96.21, which has come down from 97.32 percent in 2015.

Area-wise, Thiruvanathpuram recorded the highest pass percentage of 99.87 followed by Chennai region with a 99.69 pass percentage.

A total of 14,91,293 candidates registered for Class X exams this year, marking an increase of about 8.5 percent over last year.

Category-wise, the Centre-run Jawahar Navodyaya Vidyalayas have scored a pass percentage of 98.87 percent followed by Kendriya Vidyalayas which have a pass percentage of 98.85 percent.

Independent schools have a pass percentage of 97.72 percent while government schools recorded a pass percentage of 86.61 percent.
