The incumbent Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar, has passed a resolution to dissolve the Bihar Assembly, according to NDTV.

He submitted his resignation to the Governor to be procedurally able to swear–in as the Chief Minister again. His resignation was accepted by the Governor, according to reports.

Kumar is likely to be sworn in again as Bihar’s chief minister on November 20.

Elections were held for 243-member strong Assembly, with the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance and Nitish’s RJD-led Grand Alliance competing.

According to a report by the Dainik Jagran, Kumar will meet the Governor and convey the Cabinet’s decision to dissolve the Assembly ahead of the swearing in.
