Eight Children Die in an Accident Involving an Omni Van and a Bus

  • Eight school children have died and another 12 have been injured in a tragic accident in the coastal town of Kundapur, Karnataka.


  • Images suggest the collision was a high-impact one between the Omni van and the bus, which appear to have rammed into each other head on.


  • According to The Hindu, the injured children are currently undergoing treatment at the paediatric ICU in Kasturba Hospital at Manipal. The driver of the Omni van is being treated at the trauma centre in the same hospital.


  • The children belonged to Don Bosco High School, and have been identified as Nikita, Ananya, Selista, Ansita, Alvita, Roysten, Delvin and Clarisha, reports The Indian Express.
