In yet another shocking incident, three men gangraped a minor girl in Unnao district of Uttar Pradesh on the pretext of getting her a job, reported ANI. Police have registered a case against the three accused and also the survivor’s father, who allegedly paid the three men, according to ANI. More details are awaited on the case.
Unnao has been in the news for the past few months, after a BJP MLA from the district was accused of rape by an 18-year-old. The rape survivor’s father died on 9 April, in police custody.
Off late, several heinous rapes, especially against minors, have come to light following which the government passed an ordinance on Saturday, 21April, allowing death penalty to rapists of children below 12 years of age.
